      Description

This is a follow up issue for INT-768 (resolved for 2.0 M1). Basically we need an easy way to configure the locking.

Also, we might even consider alternative implementations. For example, there was some discussion about decorating the java.io.File object as a LockableFile or something. That may prove to be a bad idea, but I wanted to add it to the record so that we don't forget to re-consider it within the M2 timeframe.

I've cleaned up around the initial locking support a bit on my local branch, I'll commit that shortly. One thing that nags me is the fact that you've got to mix filtering and locking concerns to get the job done, I don't see an easy way out though and decorating the file object is not something that I'd like to go for if it can be helped at all.

Resolving for M2, see the Crucible review (at https://fisheye.springsource.org/cru/INT-CR-7) for the details of this implementation. We still might decide to make changes between now and the first RC.
