Description
Spring Roo is primarily licensed under GPLv3. The annotation JARs are licensed under ASLv2 and GPLv3.
Some members of the Spring community have expressed a preference Roo be licensed under ASLv2 only. This would simplify use within some organisations. We'd like to be responsive to the community and make this change for them.
We maintained CLAs for every contribution pursuant to ROO-472, thus enabling this sort of change. Tickets ROO-1077 and ROO-1855 also highlight some of the community concern with GPLv3 that motivates a full switch to ASLV2.
I have obtained the necessary VMware business and legal approvals to make this change. This task is to simply apply the new license files, documentation etc.
