Question: Tomcat 6 shows Severe ASPECTJ oriented message during shutdown

    Details

    • Status: Open
    • Priority: Minor
    • Resolution: Unresolved
    • Affects Version/s: 1.2.3.RELEASE
    • Fix Version/s: None
    • Component/s: PERSISTENCE

    • Environment:
      Tomcat6, JDK 1.7, Oracle 11g, ojdbc6.jar

      Description

During shutdown, my application shows the following message:

SEVERE: The web application [/myApp] created a ThreadLocal with key of type [org.aspectj.runtime.internal.cflowstack.ThreadStackFactoryImpl.ThreadCounterImpl] (value [org.aspectj.runtime.internal.cflowstack.ThreadStackFactoryImpl$ThreadCounterImpl@4f0e622c]) and a value of type [org.aspectj.runtime.internal.cflowstack.ThreadStackFactoryImpl.ThreadCounterImpl.Counter] (value [org.aspectj.runtime.internal.cflowstack.ThreadStackFactoryImpl$ThreadCounterImpl$Counter@394f5f40]) but failed to remove it when the web application was stopped. This is very likely to create a memory leak.

Is there a way to clean up these ThreadLocal objects to satisfy Tomcat's shutdown process?
