Move Portlet support to Spring Security Extensions

    Details

    • Type: Task
    • Status: Closed
    • Priority: Major
    • Resolution: Fixed
    • Affects Version/s: 3.0.0 M2
    • Fix Version/s: 3.0.0 RC1
    • Component/s: None
    • Labels:
      None

      Description

The portlet integration is not tightly connected to the core project so there isn't much reason for it to be tied to the same release schedule. It would be better as an independent extension.

What happened to the Portlet Support in Spring Security 3.0.3? Is the spring-security-portlet 2.0.5 version compatible with the current Spring Security Release?

This definitely was not moved to Spring Security Extensions. It was merely made non-existent. Can this code be moved into a proper SSE project or put it back in Spring Security?

It wasn't made "non-existent". You will find it in the Security Extensions codebase if you check it out and you can build it from there. The original author was given commit access in order to maintain it as a separate project, but has not done any work on it, presumably because of other commitments.
