      Description

      org.springframework.orm.hibernate3.annotation.AnnotationSessionFactoryBuilder is missing from 3.1.0.RELEASE

It existed in 3.1.0.M2 but it is now missing in 3.1.0.RELEASE.

It isn't even in the javadoc:
      Old: http://static.springsource.org/spring/docs/3.1.0.M2/javadoc-api/org/springframework/orm/hibernate3/annotation/AnnotationSessionFactoryBuilder.html
      New: http://static.springsource.org/spring/docs/3.1.0.RELEASE/javadoc-api/org/springframework/orm/hibernate3/annotation/AnnotationSessionFactoryBuilder.html

What happened? It was just introduced as the new way to do configurations, now its gone? SessionFactoryBuilderSupport is also missing. Were these files moved to a different project? Is there a new way of doing the configurations? There seems to be not explanation for the missing files.

We decided to remove the (rather complex) builder style configuration for Hibernate 3 once we approached Spring 3.1 final. We do provide a LocalSessionFactoryBuilder for Hibernate 4 and generally recommend an upgrade to Hibernate 4 if you would like to use programmatic setup. This should be a natural step from a Spring 3.0.x perspective; I'm sorry that it might cause extra effort when coming from 3.1 M2.
