        there are also implementations that allow for a stored procedure to be used for derive parameters... investigate...

        DbMetadata now looks for the string 'not supported' for commandBuilderDeriveParametersMethod allowing for the DbProvider instance to be created. Asking for the property CommandBuilderDeriveParametersMethod if the string is set to 'not supported' will throw an exception.
