      Description

I am new to using the tool. I wanted to evaluate it's Grails support but am having trouble getting the extensions to display on the Dashboard page. The tool seem to be having some trouble getting through the proxy server. However, I went into Window > General > Network Connections and changed the Active Provider = Manual and configured the HTTP Schema for the proxy server name and port. The log file indicates a problem getting through to the site but when I put the URL's it is having problems with into my browser I do not have a problem getting to them.

The attached .log file indicates the tool is having an issue with the proxy settings but I am not sure how to resolve them outside of the settings I have already changed.

Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks.

Scott, are you behind an NTLM proxy?

Sorry, I had to check with our network team. We are using IronPort and they said that it is using NTLM.

        Hi,
I've exactly the same problem, same log :
My company use a ntlm proxy who is correctly set in preferences. Eclipse plugins installation and update works, internal browser works but it's not possible to get rss feeds and sts extensions in the dashboard

Same issue, not be able to use SpringSource Tool behind a proxy with any configuration.

Following configurations does work for example in eclipse browser (http://dist.springsource.com/release/STS/help/descriptors.xml) but not work for any SpringSource Tool functionality.

        • os system proxy configuration
        • java control proxy configuration
        • eclipse (SpringSource Tool) manual proxy configuration (preferences / network connections)
        • sts with jvm proxy parameter (-Dhttp.proxyHost=myProxyHost -Dhttp.proxyPort=1234)

        Hi All,

the extension page does not currently support access through NTLM proxies. As a work-around it is possible to configure a local socks proxy to forward requests (e.g. http://ntlmaps.sourceforge.net/ or http://cntlm.sourceforge.net/). We are investigating a solution to improve this in a future version of STS.

This is not solved for me in 2.3.2, although it might be a different issue. I still can't access any update site. I got the "Pending" message for several minutes, then a message saying that there is no update site at the configured URL. However, it works fine in a regular Eclipse 3.5.
